ARTIST STATEMENT
“The universe calls me to see its wonders. In my paintings and mixed media works, I answer its call, following my imagination to search for the wonder that often eludes our gaze. I cannot lead my imagination to a place of wonder. It will only rebel and demand to lead the way. It is difficult to tame. With each new work, I embark on a journey without a ticket. I am a time traveler in a galaxy thousands of light years away, an archeologist digging through an ancient ruin, the glow of an iridescent creature in the deepest reach of the ocean, a reed at the edge of a pond, basking in the early morning light. I am often surprised where my imagination leads me. There is always wonder, but often there is also sorrow. Our world is broken. How long will it remain place of wonder and awe?”
