Meet and Greet with Solo Artist Gary Anthes

This October, Studio Gallery is proud to present a series of captivating new exhibits showcasing the talents of local artists: Dust and Destiny on the Great Plains by Gary Anthes, curated by Gaby Mizes, in our Upper Gallery. This exhibition is a thought-provoking exploration of the interplay between nature and human experience. In our Lower Gallery, explore two exhibitions curated by Mira Hecht: Land Lines by Lois Kampinsky, an intricate examination of the connections between geography and identity through vibrant landscapes, and Persephone’s Table by Leslie Kiefer, an exhibition reflecting themes of death and transformation. In our Garden Gallery, enjoy collections by Suzanne Yurdin and Beverly Logan, featuring a diverse showcase of mixed media pieces. We hope to see you there!

Sketch and Explore

During this unique “Third Thursday” program, visitors are encouraged to sketch from works by Sarah Reagan, Hanna Washburn and Ana Maria Farina, and Melissa Dorn. Visitors can also explore the exhibitions by participating in an interactive scavenger hunt activity.

Civic Tongue Opening Exhibition

Join us on Thursday, October 17th from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. for an engaging artist talk with Death by Narwhals. Focusing on two of his pieces currently featured in our Civic Tongue exhibition and the Inglenook Gallery, this talk will explore his creative practice and his unique perspective of democracy and the intersections of technology, consumerism, and environmental stewardship that are central to his works. Kay Chernush’s assignments and interests took her all over the world in search of the "transforming moment" — using her camera to find the extraordinary in the ordinary, and to reveal the conditions of her subjects with empathy, curiosity, and a particular frame. This exhibition brings together some of Chernush’s most evocative images, taken on location in Brazil, Ghana, Morocco, France, Italy, Spain, Egypt, India,Pakistan,Thailand and beyond.
