Shape of Time

Cheryl Ann Bearss

Oak Tree by Cheryl Ann Bearss

In this exhibition, Cheryl Ann Bearss explores the nature of trees whose lifespan has been made more precarious by the ravages of climate change.

Standing as silent sentinels -watching generations of humanity pass under their boughs-

trees planted by our ancestors will be living witnesses to the lives of our grandchildren.

This longevity changes our human perception of the "shape of time".

Self-Portrait as Leopard by Miriam Keeler

Conceptual Animal

Miriam Keeler

Animal expressions and symbols are embedded in many of our efforts to recount and interpret our own behaviors  and experiences. In this exhibition, Miriam Keeler revisits personal memories through the lens of animal imagery and finds deeply satisfying though non-empirical “explanations” for puzzling memories.

The Trees and The Forest: Portraits of Trees

Elizabeth Harris

While creating her artworks for this exhibit, the artist was poignantly aware of how wonderful this spring feels after another year of the pandemic. Drawing on the intuitive, her series is about connections between roots and sky, detail and big-picture, inner and outer, dormancy and renewal.

Florianna by Amy Davis

Starting

Amy Davis

Amy Davis’ love of encaustic is made clear through the joyful quality of her work. While she is painting in this medium, she feels her figures “come to life” before her very eyes. The textures of her artworks bring a unique quality out of each portrait, giving a sense of liveliness and personality. This exhibit is the mark of a new beginning for her; with Spring, and as the pandemic slowly wanes, she is becoming more energized and more inspired than ever to create her signature encaustic portraits. We are thrilled to celebrate her re”starting”, and hope that you will join us at the gallery!

Signs of Spring

Lisa Battle

Spring has always been my favorite season, the time of awakening and new life, when the natural world revives after the long dark winter. “Signs of Spring” is a celebration of the hope that this season brings, even in times of uncertainty and chaos. The sculptural vases in this exhibition are my creative responses to the beauty of nature, capturing abstract gestures that hint at the unfurling of new leaves and blossoms. Each vessel is ready to be filled with fresh flowers or to serve as a gentle symbol of renewal and hope.
